The electrical engineering industry requires capable and fully-trained specialists who are adept at various skills. To gain such skills, one must undergo expert training to become a specialist.
One such example is undergoing a LEW preparation course. What will you learn if you undergo such a program?
1. LEW services
Under this category includes the application to SP services for new installations and the renewal of an EMA license. Also included are the fault attendance, site inspection, and provision of technical advice.
2. Electrical consultancy
If you undergo a LEW preparation course, you'll study the basics of electrical consultancy that includes the concept of load flow, short circuit, cable sizing, protection coordination, and harmonic analysis. Also included is the study of data logging, lightning protection design, and third-party verification.
3. Electrical testing
Besides electrical consultancy, you'll need to study electrical testing of various equipment. This includes an HT switchgear, HT cable, transformer, motor, capacitor bank, and load bank.
4. Preventive maintenance
Also known as shutdown servicing, preventive maintenance refers to the immediate shutdown of different tools. Same with electrical testing, this includes HT switchgear, HT cable, transformer, motor, capacitor bank, and load bank.
5. Predictive maintenance
As opposed to preventive maintenance, the study of predictive maintenance pertains to the analysis of possible future events. You'll need to study infrared thermal scanning, partial discharge measurement, and transformer oil dissolved gas analysis (DGA).
6. Various courses
Besides the LEW preparation course, you'll go through a safety training program that will introduce you to the basics of electrical engineering. Safety is always a priority, and it's vital to undergo such safety training before you work on the field.
